How to Save Money on Your Auctions With Free Ebay Photo Hosting
Back in the day, hosting your photos on Ebay was the logical way to keep track of your auction photos. That was then, this is now, and we don’t have to pay for hosting our photos on Ebay any longer. At all! The good news is that gallery photos on Ebay are completely free. The other good news is that you don’t have to pay for additional photos, unless you want to give Ebay extra money, which they would gladly accept. If you’re not in the mood to fork over your hard earned cash to them, then free Ebay photo hosting is the way to go. The pictures are clearer, bigger, you can use them any time you feel like it, you can keep them forever, and did we mention it’s free?
Before You Upload Your Photos…
There are a lot of different ways that you can go about saving money on Ebay photos, but first and foremost you should be taking great photos in the first place. For some Ebay photo tips, visit this page to get started.

Free Ebay Photo Hosting FAQ
Will it cost me money down the line to use a free hosting service?
Only if you exceed a certain storage level. If you sell on Ebay moderately, then you should have nothing to worry about. Sites like Photobucket only charge $25 for loads of storage space that you can practically never go through.
Will it help me organize my photos?
You can easily organize your photos with folders, so you can use them again and again. There’s no point in taking photos twice, and this way, they are stored off your computer so you won’t be using the extra memory.
How do I use these websites?
Most websites will simply allow you to sign up for a free account, after which you’ll upload your first photos just like you would on Ebay. Then, you’ll use the code they give you once you upload the photo and paste it into your Ebay auction by clicking the HTML tab in the product listing. If this sounds confusing, it’s very simple. You’re just copying a code and placing it on the Ebay page, but first you’ll click the HTML tab that is beneath the product specifics (in the empty field where you type the description). It can’t get any easier.
How to Get the Most Out of Your Photos
- If the company gives you free hosting, they may want a link back from you to use it. You can simply delete this piece of code so the photo is not clickable, and just leave the image part.
- Size all of your images the same. This way, they’ll show up the same size and look more professional in the listing.
- Don’t bother taking photos that are larger than around 2000 pixels by 2000 pixels, unless you are selling something like a rare artifact with supersize photos. Otherwise, you’ll be wasting memory and storage space for everyone (including your own computer).
- Save them as .jpg instead of .png also to reduce load time on your auction page.
Personally, I would recommend Photobucket because I’ve used them, they’re reliable, and accounts are free. It’s easy, and very compatible with Ebay. If you upload over a certain amount of files, you can upload to pro for just $25 a year, though you’ll need to upload quite a few before you reach that point. Still, $25 a year is extremely cheap.
